BALTIMORE, Md. (March 11, 2024)--Fresh off its wins over Army and Wagner in Sunday's MSU Tournament, the Morgan State softball team will host Niagara in a non-conference doubleheader at Lois T. Murray Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Morgan State and Niagara last met during the 2011 season with the Purple Eagles winning both contests. The Lady Bears dropped the first matchup, 6-2 during the Coppin State/UMBC Tournament (3/12/11), before falling 6-5 in the UMBC Tournament (3/18/11).

The Lady Bears (9-8) ended a seven-game losing skid with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Army in Game 1 on Sunday of the MSU Tournament. Morgan State then scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to defeat Wagner, 9-1 in five innings.

Niagara (1-5) enters Tuesday's doubleheader on a three-game losing streak. The Purple Eagles were scheduled to face Howard and Mount St. Mary's in Emmittsburg, Md. on Sunday, but the games got canceled.

The Purple Eagles last played Feb. 25, where it dropped a doubleheader series in Beaumont, Texas to Lamar. Niagara would fall 3-2 and 11-0 in five innings.
