Lady Bears Drop Close Match To Mount St. Mary’s, 4-3

Box Score PIKESVILLE, Md. (Feb. 4, 2024)--The Morgan State women's tennis team welcomed Mount St. Mary's on Sunday evening for a non-conference match at Coppermine Bare Hills. The visiting Mount would claim a slim 4-3 victory in the rescheduled match, which was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The Mount jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point. Morgan would drop the contest at No. 1 doubles, but earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2 with Stefania Moysiadi and Aleksandra Edvokimova defeating Adriana Barney and Ana Alvarez-Storni. However, the guests won the point with a forfeit win at No. 3.

Edvokimova recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles over Margherita Trolese, while Lauryn Hall defeated Barney, 6-1, 6-0 in a No. 3 match. Moysiadi picked up a win at No. 4 singles, defeating Alvarez-Ston, 6-0, 6-3.
