McKenzie Named MEAC Field Athlete of the Week

BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 25, 2024) -- Morgan State sophomore Omari McKenzie was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Thursday (Jan. 25).

McKenzie, a Montego Bay, Jamaica product, won the men's triple jump event at the NYC Gotham Cup where he jumped a distance of 14.00 meters. McKenzie currently sits ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the triple jump event. 

This is McKenzie's first MEAC Field Athlete of the Week award of the season, and first Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award of his career.

McKenzie and the rest of the Bears' track & field team will travel to State College, Pa. to compete at the Penn State National Open on January 26-27th.
