NORFOLK, Va. (April 19, 20223)--Morgan State junior
Tia Jackson was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

This is the second weekly honor this season for Jackson, who also earned the award on March 22, 2023.

Howard University senior Jessica Wright was selected as Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

A native of Bristol, United Kingdom, Jackson won the long jump at the Norfolk State University Invitational this past Saturday, finishing with a leap of 18 feet, 11.75 inches (5.78 meters). It was her third straight win in the event. She also placed second in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 3.75 inches (1.62 meters).

Jackson and the Lady Bears will return to action this Saturday, April 22 when they host the annual MSU Legacy Meet held at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Morgan State University. The meet gets underway with the running events at 9 a.m., while the field events are slated to start at 10 a.m.
