Durham, NC (April 9, 2023)--The Morgan State women's track and field team competed at the 2023 Duke Invitational this weekend hosted by Duke University. The meet began Thursday and concluded Saturday afternoon at Morris Williams Stadium.

The Lady Bears would produce four top-10 finishes, including one gold medal winner. Morgan State would be led by its freshmen, who recorded two of the four top-10 finishes, including
Deborah Adekayode, who would capture gold in the long jump with a winning leap of 5.26 meters.

How it Happened:
- Freshman Deborah Adekayode placed first in the long jump, jumping 5.26m.
- Sophomore Inara Shell placed fifth in the triple jump, jumping 11.67m.
- Freshman, Makenzie Harris placed ninth in the 100M hurdles, clocking in at 14.70.
- Freshman Asydiah Pray-Brown placed 13th in the 400M hurdles, clocking in at 1:11.71.
- The 4X400 meter relay team finished in a time of 4:20.74 to place fifth.Â
Up Next:
MSU track & field will compete next Saturday, April 15 when it travels to Norfolk, Va. to take part in the NSU Invitational, hosted by Norfolk State.
