BALTIMORE, Md. (March 4, 2023)--The annual MSU Softball Tournament kicks off this weekend on Saturday, March 4 and concludes on Sunday, March 5 at Lois T. Murray Field.

The Tournament field was recently updated, as local foe the University of Maryland Baltimore County is now out of the tournament. Joining host Morgan State and Fairleigh Dickinson will now be the Bulldogs of Bryant University.

With the changes, Saturday's schedule will now feature a doubleheader between Morgan State and Fairleigh Dickinson in what will now be the Lady Bears home opener. First pitch is at 12 p.m.

Fairleigh Dickinson and Bryant will begin Sunday's action at 11 a.m., followed by Morgan State and Fairleigh Dickinson at 1 p.m. The tournament will conclude with Morgan State hosting Bryant at 3 p.m.

Morgan State enters the weekend with a 4-6 record and is riding a two-game skid, following back-to-back losses to Marshall and Princeton during last weekend's Liberty Classic in Lynchburg, Va.

Fairleigh Dickinson is also 4-6 and enters the weekend on a three-game losing streak. The Knights last outing was at the Torero Classic in San Diego, Calif. (Feb. 17-18), where they went 1-4 and defeated host San Diego.

Bryant (2-3) was originally scheduled to take part in this weekend's DeMarini Tiger Clash at Towson. Friday's portion of the schedule was canceled due to impending weather in the Towson area. The Bulldogs have lost two straight heading into Saturday's games against Coppin State and host Towson.
