BALTIMORE, Md. (March 29, 2023) – Morgan State junior standout Mikeal Carpenter has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.
This is the second MEAC weekly honor for Carpenter this season, as he also earned the award on March 22, 2023.
The Suitland (Md.) product defeated Philip Bible of LIU 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles spot for his seventh straight singles victory. He also paired with Bertin Karenzi for a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Carpenter currently leads the Bears with a 10-2 record at number one singles, including a 3-0 record in conference play.
Next up for Carpenter and the Bears is a Friday (April 7) match against Howard scheduled for 4 p.m. The Bears will also host John Hopkins on Wednesday, April 12.
