BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 25, 2022)—Makila Billingsley hit for a career-high .625 and totaled a match-high 11 kills, as Morgan State defeated visiting South Carolina State, 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-9) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest at Hill Field House on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Lady Bears (2-14, 1-1 MEAC), who ended a three-match losing skid with the victory, improved to 26-0 all-time against South Carolina State. The Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-12, 0-2 in the MEAC.
 
Morgan State, which hit a season-best .359 in the match, got six kills from Justyus Jackson, who hit .364 and six kills from Jourdan Page, while Mackenzie Jefferson and Trinity Carruthers each had 11 assists. Alyssa Sampson finished with a match-high 10 digs and tied a match-high with four service aces.
 
The Lady Bulldogs were led by Semira Fields, who tallied nine kills and a team-high four digs. Siela Avea finished with a match-high 18 assists. Maya Rembert had a match-high four service aces.
 
Morgan State returns to the court on Friday, Sept. 30 when it visits crosstown rival Coppin State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at the Physical Education Complex. The Eagles (25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 22-25, 15-5) are coming off a 3-2 victory over North Carolina Central on Sunday.
