Box Score CHERRY HILL, N.J. (March 30, 2022)—Morgan State's Lady Bears' tennis team dropped a non-conference decision to Temple, 7-0 on Wednesday at the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club.
Morgan fell to 4-7-1 on the season, while Temple improved to 8-4.
Doubles
Stefania Moysiadi and
Nolwenn Cardoso lost their No. 1 doubles match to Stefaniya Surikova and Jamie Wei, 6-2 in the first match.
Asmara Rose and
Averiana Mitchell lost in No. 2 doubles to Sena Takebe and Evie Wei, 6-2. In the third and final doubles contest
Hannah Smith and
Ana-Lei Kalawe lost to Yining Tian and Veronika Kulhava, 7-6(8)(6).
Singles
Morgan State lost every point in the six singles matches played. Smith lost the No. 1 singles match to Vineetha Mummadi 7-5, 6-1. Kalawe lost the No. 2 singles match against Jamie Wei 6-2, 6-0. Mitchell had to retire in her No. 3 match, falling 6-1, 3-0, ret. to Kulhava.
Anabel Aran lost at No. 4 singles to Tian 6-3, 6-0, while Rose lost to Evie Wei 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5. Cardoso lost her No. 6 contest to Takebe 6-4, 6-3.
