PRINCETON, N.J. (Dec. 10, 2022)--Competing in its final meet of 2022, the Lady Bears indoor track and field team traveled to New Jersey to take part in the Joe Handelman Invitational, held at Princeton University's Jadwin Gym.

The Lady Bears would produce – champions and 14 top-five finishes on Saturday.
Â
On the track,
Alliayah Ottley would capture the 60-meter hurdles title with a time of 8.64 seconds, while
Inara Shell won the long jump with a winning leap of 18-9.00.
Â
Rachel Field ran a time of 4:00.57 to place second in the 1200 meter run.
Â
Destiny Ward had a pair of third place finishes on the day. Ward ran a time of 7.86 seconds in the 60-meter dash and also ran a time of 40.68 seconds to finish third in the 300-meter dash.

Denisha McLaurin would place fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 9.36 seconds.
Â
Morgan State had two 4X400 relay teams place in the top three.

Aleisha Robinson, Destiny Ward and
Jalissa Emmens placed second in a time of 4:06.91.

Tia Jackson,
Rachel Field and
Jessica Lamborn teamed together on the B team to take third in a time of 4:26.04.

Ishana Asinor had a height of 10-feet-0.00 to come in second in the pole vault.

Terine Lambert placed third in the shot put with a toss of 44-feet-2.75 inches, while JohnelleJohnson took fourth with a mark of 42-feet-4.75 inches.

Johnson placed third in the weight throw with a throw of 53-feet-10.25 inches and Lambert came in fifth with a throw of 46-feet-7.50 inches. Brylan Carter would come in sixth with a mark of 44-feet-9.00 inches.

In the long jump,
Deborah Adekayode (16-feet-8.00) and
Denisha McLaurin (16-feet-7.75) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Morgan State will return to the track in the new year, when they travel to Lexington, Va., to compete in the VMI Invitational (Jan. 13-14), hosted by the Virginia Military Institute.
