Morgan State Men’s Place Fifth in MEAC Championship 8k Race

BALTIMORE, MD (Oct. 31, 2022)—The 2022 MEAC Cross Country Championship took place at The Delaware State Outreach & Research Center in Smyrna, Delaware. This year's Championship was hosted by Delaware State University. 

The 2022 MEAC title holder went to the Norfolk State Spartans for the third time in a row. Behind Norfolk was Howard University and Delaware State placing in second and third place. Norfolk's Gidion Sigei (24:38.8), Regan Kimtai (25:32.1), and Evan Cheruiyot (25:41.1) finished in the top three places overall in the 8k race. 

The Morgan State Bears placed fifth in the race with 108 points.  

Morgan's Davian Gray (26:37.2) came in 8th place and was named All- MEAC for this year's conference. Behind Gray, for the Bears, was Jackson Waller (28:12.7) in 22nd place.
Following behind is Nasir Wallace (28:43.0) in 25th, Devion Bryant (28:47.9) in 25th, Justin Alston (28:57.0) for 27th, Keon Witherspoon (29:28.5) for 32nd, Levi Bryant (31:00.0) in 36th, and Tarique Gooden (32:16.8) in 41st.

The team, collectively, finished with a time of 2:21.17.
