DURHAM, N.C. (Oct. 21, 2022)—The Morgan State volleyball team began the second half of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule with a season with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 27-25) loss to North Carolina Central (NCCU) on Friday afternoon at McDougal and McLendon Arena.
 
The win was the fourth straight for the Eagles over Morgan State, who now lead the all-time series, 4-3. The Lady Bears fell to 2-20, 1-7 MEAC with the loss, while NCCU improved to 5-14, 4-4 MEAC.
 
Madison Grace led the Lady Bears with 12 kills and Jourdan Page led the team with nine digs. Mackenzie Jefferson totaled 22 assists, while Jadyn Perkins tallied a match-best five blocks.  
 
Vanila Pulu-Suliafu recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs. Loren Johnson also totaled 10 digs and Tori Wilson finished with 13 kills. Kamren Harper totaled 12 kills and added six digs.
 
NCCU finished the contest hitting .290 with 43 kills on 100 attack attempts and 14 errors. Morgan State totaled 38 kills on 98 attempts and committed 18 errors for an attack percentage of .204.
 
The Lady Bears totaled eight service errors, while recording one ace. The Eagles had seven aces, but committed 10 service errors.
 
Morgan State will look to end a six-match losing skid when it visits the Bulldogs of South Carolina State for a MEAC contest at Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. at Dukes Gymnasium in Orangeburg, S.C. SCSU (0-19, 0-8 MEAC) was dealt a 3-0 loss at home to Coppin State on Friday.
