Women’s Tennis Falls On The Road At George Washington, 6-1

Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 29, 2022)-The Morgan State women's tennis team dropped its second match of the non-conference season on Saturday, falling to host George Washington, 6-1, at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
 
The Colonials claimed the double point by going 3-0 in doubles play to begin the match. George Washington (1-1) also earned five of the six singles matches for the final score.  
 
Doubles
George Washington's Stella Wiesemann and Katarina Marinkovikj defeated Anabel Torrente and Nolwenn Cardoso, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Lindsay Thompson and Charlotte Bell earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2 over Asmara Rose and Averiana Mitchell. Sarah Bodewes and Alexandra Vesikallio completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win over Ana-lei Kalawe and Hannah Smith at the No. 3 spot.
 
Singles
Morgan State's (0-2) lone victory of the day came from Hannah Smith, who defeated the Colonials' Charlotte Bell 6-1, 6-4 in a No. 4 singles match.
 
Up Next: Morgan State will be back on the courts tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 30 when they visit the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
