Spring Schedule Announced for Men's Tennis

The Bears open their 2022 spring slate on January 23.

BALTIMORE, Md. (January 4, 2022) – The Morgan State men's tennis team will participate in its first spring match on Sunday, Jan. 23, when they host the Saint Francis Red Flash. The 2022 spring schedule is highlighted by the Bears playing four home matches. 
 
Morgan will face 14 nonconference teams, including home matchups against Georgetown and Johns Hopkins at the Morgan State Tennis Courts. To view the complete schedule, click here.

"We are excited to get back to competing as a team," said head coach Matthew Townes. "We have a very tough schedule, and look forward to the battles. It's been a long time coming, go Bears!" 
 
The first match for the Bears will be on Sunday, Jan. 23, when they host Saint Francis. Morgan returns to action with three consecutive road matches when they face Lehigh on Feb. 12, VCU on Feb. 13 and Navy on Feb. 26.
 
The first weekend in March will see the Bears play host to Georgetown (March 5) and Harford C.C. (March 6), before hitting the road to face Elon (March 13) and North Carolina A&T on March 16. 
 
Morgan will travel to Cary, North Carolina to participate in the MEAC Roundup when they take on Norfolk State on March 17, followed by South Carolina State on March 18, and North Carolina Central on March 19. 
 
Morgan hits the road for their next seven matches. The road trip will start with Loyola-MD (March 24), Bloomsburg (March 29) and Temple (March 30). The Bears will open the month of April in Washington, D.C. when they face Howard. The final road matches of the stretch includes trips to James Madison (April 15) and a conference showdown with Coppin State (April 16). 
 
Morgan closes out the regular season when they welcome Johns Hopkins on April 17.
 
The 2022 MEAC Championship will take place Thursday, April 28-Saturday, April 30 at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C. and will be hosted by North Carolina Central.
