NORFOLK, Va. (April 27, 2021)-Morgan State junior Kyley Fijalkowski was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the first MEAC weekly honor for Fijalkowski.
 
Norfolk State sophomore Cam Anderson and North Carolina Central senior Kiara Hurley were named MEAC Co-Pitcher of the Week, while North Carolina Central freshman outfielder Imara Harrell was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
 
Fijalkowski helped Morgan State to a 1-1 week against Drexel, by batting a team-leading .556 after going 5-for-9 with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs scored.
 
A native of Lockport, N.Y., Fijalkowski batted .600, going 3-for-5 and stealing a base in a 13-8 victory over the Dragons in the series opener. In Game 2, she went 2-for-4 at the plate, including a homer and a run scored.
 
Morgan State returns to action on Wednesday, April 28, when it hosts Bowie State in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m. at Lois T. Murray Field.
