BALTIMORE, Md. (April 13, 2021)-Morgan State returns to non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon when it visits crosstown foe Towson in a mid-week doubleheader at the Towson Softball Stadium. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
 
Series Notes: Towson leads the all-time series 17-3, but the Lady Bears have won the last three meetings. The Lady Bears' first win of the series came on April 11, 2018 a 3-1 defeat of the Tigers at Towson Softball Stadium. Morgan State then claimed an 11-5 victory in eight innings to complete the doubleheader sweep. The Lady Bears again tasted victory in 2019, knocking off the Tigers 13-6 on April 3, 2019. The 2020 series was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
Bear Claws: Morgan State (13-9, 10-2 MEAC) enters the Towson series coming off a four-game series spilt on the road over the weekend against MEAC rival Howard (April 10-11). The Lady Bears, who entered the Howard contests with an unblemished league record, suffered their first conference losses of the season, while also earning their first road wins of the season. Morgan State would drop the finale to the Bison, 5-3 in 11 innings.
 
Senior outfielder Jalian Young was named MEAC Player of the Week on Tuesday. Young batted .385 with five hits, including a double and triple and totaled 3 RBI in 13 at bats, to help Morgan State to a 2-2 weekend against Beltway rival Howard.
 
A Look At The Tigers: Towson (10-12, 0-6 CAA) is in the midst of a three-game losing skid, following a three-game series loss at home to the University of Delaware (April 10-11). The Tigers suffered a 17-2 loss in five innings to Delaware in the finale on Sunday.
 
Towson is 3-2 this season against MEAC competition (Coppin State: 3-0, Howard: 0-2). Morgan State and Towson are scheduled to meet again in two weeks on Wednesday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Towson Softball Stadium.
 
Next Up: Morgan State will travel to Orangeburg, S.C. this weekend to square off against the MEAC's Southern Division foes, as they take part in the MEAC Round-Up (April 16-18), hosted by South Carolina State.
 
First up for Morgan State will be a matchup between division leaders, when the Lady Bears square off against MEAC Southern Division leader North Carolina A&T on Friday, before meeting host South Carolina State and Florida A&M on Saturday. The Lady Bears will conclude the weekend facing North Carolina Central on Sunday.
