2021 HOME PROTOCOLS: The 2021 softball season will be played without spectators in attendance at Lois T. Murray Field.
• The softball program will adhere to NCAA guidelines and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference policies and procedures, including COVID-19 testing protocols, while also operating in alignment with state and local public health officials.
• Lois T. Murray Field will operate with limited access only to include essential staff and personnel, including participating teams. Capacity restrictions will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and adjusted as allowed as public health conditions and recommendations improve.


BALTIMORE, Md. (April 1, 2021)-Morgan State returns to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play this weekend when it hosts Delaware State in a four-game series at Lois T. Murray Field. The Lady Bears and Hornets will square off on Friday, April 2 with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and will close out the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 3 at noon. Morgan State enters the series sitting in first place in the MEAC Northern Division standings, while Delaware State is in second.

The two programs last met April 6-7, 2020 with the Lady Bears sweeping the three-game series in Baltimore. Morgan State outscored the Hornets, 16-0 in the three contests.

The Lady Bears (7-7, 4-0 MEAC) are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Bowie State (3/27). The wins ended a six-game losing skid for the Lady Bears, who ended an eight-game non-conference stretch with a 2-6 record.
 
Delaware State (8-6, 6-2 MEAC) enters the series on a three-game winning streak. The Hornets, who last played March 20-21 against MEAC foe Coppin State, dropped the series opener then claimed the next three contests.
 
The Hornets are 3-1 this season on the road, while Morgan State is 7-3 at home.
