2021 MEAC Tournament Bracket

NORFOLK, Va., (March 4, 2021)–The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has released its women's pairings for the 2021 Air Force Reserve MEAC Basketball Tournament, March 11-13 at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va. The Bison of Howard University (10-2 MEAC) enter as the No. 1 seed in the Northern Division, while the Aggies of North Carolina A&T State (9-1 MEAC) will enter as the No. 1 seed in the Southern Division.

Howard earned the top spot in the Air Force Reserve MEAC Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2002 and will open tournament play on Friday, March 12 at 12 p.m. against the winner of the South No. 2 Norfolk State/North No. 3 Coppin State winner; that quarterfinal will take place on Thursday, March 11 at 12 p.m.

The Aggies claimed the Southern Division title and will be the No. 1 seed for the second time in three years. North Carolina A&T State earned a bye into the semifinals on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. against the winner of the North No. 2 Morgan State/South No. 3 North Carolina Central (NCCU) quarterfinal, which is set for Thursday at 2 p.m.

The No. 2-seed is the highest for the Lady Bears (11-3, 8-2 MEAC) since the 2010-11 team also earned the No. 2 seed.

Morgan State, which had its series finale against Delaware State (3/3-4) called off due to coronavirus health and safety protocols, ended the regular season on a three-game winning streak and has won eight of its last nine games.

Due to the MEAC's divisional play this year, the Lady Bears and NCCU (4-11, 2-6 MEAC) did not play each other. Morgan State leads the all-time series, 12-5 and won last season's lone meeting, 86-79, in Baltimore (2/10).

The 2020-21 divisional champions, first team all-conference honorees and other award winners, including Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, will be recognized in pre-game presentations prior to the honorees' first games in the tournament.

The 2021 Air Force Reserve MEAC Basketball Tournament tips off Thursday, March 11, and will conclude on Saturday, March 13 with the men's and women's championship games. The quarterfinal and semifinal games will be streamed live on FloHoops at www.flohoops.com.

The men's finale will begin at 1 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN2.

The women's game will begin one hour after the end of the men's game live on ESPN3. The contest will air the following day, Sunday, March 14, at 10 a.m. on ESPNU.

The men's bracket will be released following the conclusion of play on Saturday.
