BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 25, 2021) – Black lacrosse players and coaches have influenced lacrosse for almost a century.
In celebration of Black History Month, US Lacrosse Magazine in partnership with Blaxers Blog, have compiled a list of the All-Time Men's and Women's Black Lacrosse Teams.
The All-Black Lacrosse Teams celebrates over 50 Black men and women who have made significant impacts on this sport's community and history.
Three Morgan State Bear greats, midfielder Joe "Flaky" Fowlkes (1975-78), midfielder Wayne Jackson (1970-73) and attackman Dave Raymond (1974-77) were named as Honorable Mentions, US Lacrosse Magazine announced Thursday.
Fowlkes was a four-year letterwinner as a member of the Bears lacrosse team. He was a three-time All-American (1976-78) and was the first and only Black in history to lead the nation as the 1976 Division II scoring champion (61). In 1978, Fowlkes was the first Black player featured on the NCAA Lacrosse Guide.

Raymond contributed to the outstanding legacy of the Morgan Ten Bears. He was selected to the 1974 College Division Honorable Mention All-American Team and was named to the 1975 All-American Third Team after he led the nation in scoring. He finished his career with 125 goals scored, 136 assists and was at one time the school's all-time scoring leader with 261 career points.
