BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 25, 20201)-The Morgan State volleyball team concluded the 2021 Homecoming weekend with a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) sweep of visiting South Carolina State on Sunday afternoon at Hill Field House.

The Lady Bears would win the match, 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-17) to improve to 25-0 all-time against South Carolina State. Morgan State ended a six-match losing skid with the win and upped its record to 4-19 overall, 2-7 in the MEAC. The Bulldogs fell to 0-19, 0-9 in the MEAC and had their current losing streak reach 68 straight matches dating back to the 2018 season.

Madison Grace totaled a match-high nine kills and sophomore
Makila Billingsley added eight in the win. Junior
Jadore Hayes recorded a match-best 14 digs, while sophomore
Gabriela Hiciano added 10 digs to go with five kills. Sophomore setter
Mackenzie Jefferson finished with a match-high 34 assists, eight digs, a kill and had two service aces on the afternoon.

S.C. State was led by Heather Wicks, who hit for .471 with nine kills, four digs and two service aces, while teammate Maria J.V. Lourerio finished with a match-high nine kills and added eight digs and a service ace. Kayleigh Sullivan recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 11 digs. Kendal Rivera led the Bulldogs with 13 digs and had three assists and two service aces.

Morgan State will travel to the Nation's Capital to take on Howard on Friday, Oct. 29. First serve is at 6 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.
