Box Score PIKESVILLE, Md. (Feb. 25, 2020)-The Eastern Michigan women's tennis team defeated Morgan State by a score of 5-2 in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon at the Coopermine Racquet & Fitness Club.
 
The loss was the second straight for Morgan State, which fell to 2-5 on the season. The Eagles improved to 6-6.
 
Sophomore Averiana Mitchell picked up her fourth consecutive singles victory after earning a three-sets victory over EMU's Isabelle Popma at No. 3 singles. Mitchell bounced back from a 6-1 loss in the first set to win the next two sets by identical 6-4 scores to win the match.
 
Stefania Moysiadi claimed the second point for the Lady Bears following a one-set victory at No. 5 singles over Morgan Ingram, 6-2.
 
The visiting Eagles, who took a 1-0 lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches, would win the remaining four singles matches for the 5-2 victory.  
 
The Lady Bears return to action on Friday, Feb. 28, when they visit Bucknell at 7:30 p.m.
