153 Student-Athletes Garner AD's Honor Roll Distinction

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 27, 2020) --  A total of 153 Morgan State student-athletes earned a place on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall 2019 semester, the athletics department announced during the halftime of Morgan State's men's basketball game versus Delaware State on Monday night at Hill Field House.

Over 50 percent of the student-athletes representing all 15 Morgan State athletic programs earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the Fall.

"The AD's Honor Roll was created as a way to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Edward Scott, Ph.D. "The success this past fall is a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, and academic support staff and serves as clear illustration of Morgan's commitment to academic excellence."

   

Every program was represented and football led the way for the 2019 fall semester with a total of 43 student-athletes on the AD honor roll, with women's track & field recording 19, softball tallying 18 and cheerleading 14. The other athletic programs with players on the honor roll included men's track & field (14), women's basketball (10), volleyball (9), men's tennis (7), women's bowling (5), men's basketball (6), women's tennis (5), men's cross country (2), and women's cross country (1).

The women's bowling program had the highest team grade point average with a combined 3.54 GPA.
