Jalian Young, who led the inning with a single to right field and advanced to second on an error by the right fielder, later scored when Katariina Delph singled to right field. Aliya Ewell stepped to the plate and singled to left field to score Delph and cut the Oakland lead to 3-2. After Haylee Bobos walked, a pitching change followed and Chelsea Wiggins replaced Lauryn DeBono on the mound. Three batters later Cayla Sweazie singled to right field with bases loaded to score two runs and give Morgan State a 4-3 lead.
  • The Lady Bears added to their lead with four more runs in the fifth inning to put the game away. Sweazie, as she did in the third inning, again stepped to the plate with bases loaded and singled to right field to score Deborah Hamilton and Ellen Ebbers to put the Lady Bears up 6-3.
