HACKENSACK, N.J. (Sept. 6, 2019)-
Zoe McBride tallied a match-high 17 kills and added a match-high 14 digs to help lead the visiting Lady Bears past host Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-13) in their opening match of the Knights Fall Classic on Friday evening at Rothman Center.

McBride, who earlier this week was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week, finished the match with a team-high .424 attack percentage. She recorded six kills each in the second and third sets, and had a .600 hitting percentage in the opening set.

Morgan State (4-1), which is off to its best start in school history, surpassed the 1994 team, which started 3-2 through its first five contests. The win also gave Morgan State its second consecutive shutout victory.

Roi Wallace had a match-high 39 assists and
Jennevy Santos totaled 13 digs, while
Tylar Roberson finished with nine kills.
Shadae Debraux (.500 hitting) and
Sara Brown (.375 hitting) each added five kills.

As a team the Lady Bears totaled 45 kills and had an attack percentage of .284. Morgan State had a match-best 17 kills in the opening set and hit for .343. The Lady Bears recorded a best .423 attack percentage in the third and final set, while finishing with 15 kills.

The Knights (0-4) finished with 22 kills and had a team attack percentage of .021 for the match. Twice FDU was held to a .000 attack percentage in Sets 2 and 3. The Knights had a set-high nine kills in Set 2 and was limited to a set-low six kills in the third set.

Magdalena Maksimovic had eight kills to lead Fairleigh Dickinson. McKenna Setterlund finished with 14 assists and Jaelyn Young had a team-leading 11 digs.

Morgan State held a 5.0-3.0 blocking advantage over the Knights.
Sophie Pajevic,
Jasmin Perry, Brown and McBride all recorded two blocks. FDU was led by Brooke Stevens, who had a match-high three blocks. Â

The Lady Bears return to action on Saturday, Sept. 7, when they take on New Jersey Institute of Technology at 10 a.m., before closing out the tournament against Quinnipiac at 3 p.m.
