NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 30, 2019)-Morgan State sophomore Zoe McBride was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. It is the third MEAC weekly honor this season for McBride, who garnered player of the week honors, followed by co-player of the week accolades back-to-back weeks (Sept. 3 and Sept. 9) to start the season.
 
Delaware State's Jordan Vang was named MEAC Rookie of the Week, while North Carolina Central sophomore Arlanda Faulkner earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore teammate Celene Morris was named MEAC Setter of the Week.
 
McBride averaged 5.2 kills and 2.0 digs per set, while hitting .291 in two matches to open conference play this past weekend. The 6-foot outside hitter totaled 52 kills, 20 digs, six service aces and four blocks for the week.
 
A native of Ridgefield, Wash., McBride had a match-high 27 kills to go with nine digs and a career-high four service aces and hit .299 to help the Lady Bears overcome a 2-0 deficit to defeat Maryland Eastern Shore in Friday's MEAC opener. She then added a match-high 25 kills, 11 digs, three blocks and two aces in a tough five-set loss to Delaware State on Sunday.
