BALTIMORE, Md. (Sept. 22, 2019)-Morgan State juniors Tylar Roberson and Sophie Pajevic were selected to the 2019 Hoyas Invitational All-Tournament Team on Saturday.
This is the second all-tournament team honor for Roberson this season, who also earned the same accolade during the Knights Classic (9/9). Pajevic is receiving her first honor this season.
Roberson finished with a team-high 52 kills (4.00 kps), 30 digs, three service aces and two blocks in three matches.
A native of Elkhart, Ind., Roberson notched a double-double with 15 kills and 12 digs and a block against host Georgetown (9/20). She then recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs and a block against Florida International (9/20). Roberson closed out the weekend with a season-high 26 kills, while adding eight digs and three service aces in a five-set win over Binghamton (9/21).
Pajevic recorded 21 kills, while hitting for a team-best .333 for the weekend. She added 32 digs, six assists, tied a team-high five service aces and finished second in blocks with five.
Pajevic began the week hitting a season-high .750 with six kills on eight attempts, eight digs, two blocks and a service ace in the opener at Georgetown (9/20). The Arandelovac, Serbia native followed up with four kills, eight digs, five assists and a block against Florida International (9/20). She concluded the weekend with a season-high 11 kills and 16 digs to record her first double-double of the season in a five-set win over Binghamton (9/21) in the finale. Pajevic, who hit .350 in the match, added four service aces and two blocks in the victory.
Roberson and Pajevic were joined on the all-tournament team by Iva Vujosevic (MVP), Elissa Barbosa and Brennan Wilhite (Georgetown), Sidney Henderson and Chelsea Hudson (FIU) and Tyra Wilson and Francela Ulate (Binghamton).
