5/1/2019 2:55:00 AM

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 30, 2019)-Morgan State will wrap up the 2019 softball season on Wednesday afternoon, when it plays host to Rider in a non-conference doubleheader at Lois T. Murray Field. First pitch is at 2 p.m.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since Morgan State handed the Broncs a 7-3 loss in the Aggie Invitational on Feb. 22, 2014 in Greensboro, N.C.

Wednesday's contests will also be the final collegiate games for nine Morgan State seniors (Giselle Alvarez, Amber Arlinghaus, Mikaela Browdy, Damishah Charles, Gabriella Gorosave, Erica Hawkins, Caitlyn Williams, Damali Young and Stormy Zyzyk).

Morgan State (20-24) enters the game in the midst of a four-game winning streak, following a three-game sweep of crosstown rival Coppin State on the road. The Lady Bears would win by the scores of 6-4, 12-0 and 11-0, respectively, to record their third straight 20-win season.

Rider (7-41) is in the midst of an eight-game losing skid. The Broncs, who will close out the regular season with four Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games following the Morgan State series, are coming off a doubleheader loss at Marist (4/29) by the scores of 7-3 and 5-4.
