BALTIMORE, Md. (April 27, 2019)-The Morgan State softball team will make the short trip across town to take on rival Coppin State in a three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division season finale this weekend at the Coppin State Softball Field.
The series gets underway with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday with a single game at noon.
The Lady Bears (17-24, 7-4 MEAC) are coming off a non-conference doubleheader split at Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday. Morgan State would drop the first game to the Mount, 9-1 in five innings, before earning a 6-0 win in Game 2.
Coppin State (9-27, 5-7 MEAC) is also coming off a non-conference doubleheader split on Wednesday. The Eagles would defeat visiting Saint Peter's 2-1 in the opener, before falling 12-2 in the second game.
The two programs have split the last six meetings dating back to the 2017 campaign with the Eagles winning two of the three contests that year. Last season the Lady Bears dropped the series opener to Coppin State before claiming the remaining two games to win the series.
