BALTIMORE, Md. (April 15, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis team closes out the 2019 season this afternoon when they visit crosstown rival Coppin State in the MEAC finale for both teams. First serve is at 2 pm from the Coppin State Tennis Courts.
If Morgan State wins, it will claim the MEAC Northern Division title outright and it will mark the program's first since 2013.
Monday's contest will also be the final one in a Morgan State uniform for seniors Peggy Rooke and Oriane Yehouenou. The two will look to close out their collegiate careers adding a division title to their belts, after winning a MEAC title a year ago as juniors.
The Lady Bears (6-12, 4-0 MEAC) are coming off a 5-2 non-conference loss at the University of Delaware on Saturday night. The loss would end a season-long three-match winning streak for Morgan State.
Coppin State (2-9, 1-3 MEAC) enters the match on a season-long six-match losing skid. The Eagles were dealt a 4-2 loss at Rider (4/13) in their last outing.
