BALTIMORE, Md. (April 13, 2019)-The Morgan State softball team will put its season-tying five-game winning streak on the line when it visits beltway rival Howard this weekend for a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division series at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy in Washington, D.C.
Morgan State and Howard will get underway with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13 at 1 p.m. and will close out the series with a single game on Sunday at noon.
The Lady Bears (13-21, 4-2 MEAC) are coming off a series sweep of Delaware State at home last weekend. Morgan State claimed the series win by taking the doubleheader by identical 4-0 scores. The Lady Bears then won the finale, 8-0 on 'Senior Day' as nine Lady Bears were honored prior to the game.
The sweep of Delaware State marked the second straight season that the Lady Bears have not only swept the Hornets, but also shut them out. Morgan State has now defeated the Hornets in the last six meetings, while outscoring Delaware State, 36-0 in the last six meetings.

Stephanie Rundlett was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday, after going 3-0 and recording a save for the week. Rundlett appeared in four games, making two starts and finished the week with an ERA of 1.31. She would face 83 batters and allowed just four runs, walked five and collected 10 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work. She has not allowed a run in her last 14.1 innings pitched.
Howard (10-20, 3-1 MEAC) enters the contest coming off a non-conference doubleheader loss at Towson on April 9 by the scores of 7-2 and 6-4. Prior to the Towson losses, the Lady Bison won 2-of-3 games from Delaware State, claiming the doubleheader with a 6-4 and an 8-5 win over the Hornets. It was Howard's first series win over Delaware State since 2010.
Morgan State has won nine straight against the Lady Bison, including last season's series sweep in Washington, D.C.
