BALTIMORE, Md. (March 3, 2019)-The Morgan State women's basketball team will close out the road portion of its regular season on Monday, March 4 when it visits Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Maryland Eastern Shore at 5:30 p.m. at the William P. Hytche Center. The Lady Bears will look to end a four-game losing skid, as well as improve on its 3-10 road record.

BEAR CLAWS: Morgan State (8-20, 6-8 MEAC) suffered its fourth straight loss, falling on the road to Delaware State, 62-57 on Saturday.
Ashia McCalla tied a career-high 18 points to lead the Lady Bears.
Adre'onia Coleman recorded her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Naomi Bolasingh added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. Coleman leads the team in both scoring (16.3) and rebounding (8.1). McCalla is averaging 9.8 points and Chavis is scoring 9.1 points. Chavis leads the Lady Bears in assists (65) and steals (60).

BIRD SEED: Maryland Eastern Shore (15-12, 11-3 MEAC), winners of eight of its last 10 games, is coming off a 65-62 loss at Delaware State (2/23). Ciani Byrom scored a game-high 24 points, while Ra'Jean Martin added 16 in the loss. Byrom has paced the Hawks with 15.9 point per game, while Keyera Eaton is averaging 10.2 points and Bairesha Gill-Miles leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per contest. As a team, MDES is closing in on 200 made three-pointers (194). Bryom and Eaton have both knocked down a team-best 47 three pointers, while Martin has accounted for 40.

MSU VS. MDES SERIES NOTES: Maryland Eastern Shore leads the all-time series, 42-37. Morgan State has won three of the last five meetings. The Hawks defeated Morgan State earlier this season, 73-68 in Baltimore (1/5).

MAKE IT A DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Adre'onia Coleman picked up her ninth double-double of the season in the loss at Delaware State (3/3). Coleman finished with 10 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. The Baltimore native would also add three steals.

CHAVIS MOVING UP: Junior
Jihayah Chavis moved into 10th-place in steals at Morgan State with 149, following her five steals against Howard (2/25). Chavis is now two steals away from passing former Lady Bear Karla Warfield (150 steals from 1993-96, 97) for ninth.
