Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (March 31, 2019) – Morgan State men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback against Bucknell in a non-conference play Saturday at the Central PA Tennis Center.
The Bears dropped its second straight match and fell to 7-6 on the season, while Bucknell improved to 7-10 with their third win in four matches.
Arjun Ramakrishnan was outlasted by Ethan Jacobs at number one singles, as the senior fell by score of 7-5, 6-4 scores.
Cooper Bradshaw had the closest match of the day against
Sebastian Lopez. He won 7-6 (7-2) in the first set but came up just short by a 7-5 score in the second set. The freshman cruised to a 10-4 victory in the third-set tiebreaker.
Ceylan and Gupta both lost in straight sets on court number 3 and number 4, respectively. Ceylan lost to Marwan Asaza 6-0, 6-2, while Gupta fell to Ryan Jurist 6-3, 7-5.
Bucknell took both of the completed doubles contests, including a close 7-6 victory by Alex Pedrazzini and Andrei Vitiuc over Oghuzhan Ceyland and
Nihit Rawal on court two.
Sebastian Lopez and
Shrey Gupta fell to Ethan Jacobs and Cooper Bradshaw by a score of 6-2 win on court three.
The Bears will travel to face Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m.
