BALTIMORE, Md. (March 24, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis team opened up Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division play by sweeping the Hawks
of Maryland Eastern Shore (MDES) on Sunday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Courts.

The Lady Bears (3-10, 1-0 MEAC) ended a four-match losing skid, while MDES fell to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the MEAC.

The Lady Bears, the reigning MEAC champions, would start by taking the doubles point by winning 6-0 at both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.

Starting the single play,
Oriane Yehouenou earned a quick victory 6-0, 6-0 without dropping a single point at the No. 5 position.
Jourdan Wallace and
Asmara Rose would follow the same path and didn't give up any games to their opponent.

Juniors
Peggy Rooke and
Dana Santiago would each win 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

The Lady Bears, who are off to strong start in their race to winning a division title, will be back on the court on Thursday, March 28 when they travel to Philadelphia to play a non-conference match against Temple. First serve is at 10 a.m.
