GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 19, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis suffered a tough 4-3 loss against North Carolina A&T State (1-13) on Tuesday.
 
The Lady Bears (2-9) would start the contest by taking the doubles point. Oriane Yehouenou and Dana Santiago got a quick 6-0 win over Kaya Ellis and Bryant at the No. 3 spot. Averiana Mitchell and Jourdan Wallace's 6-2 win against Marlene Estenssoro and Renata Ruiz secured a 1-0 lead for the Lady Bears.
 
Yehouenou would win at No. 5 singles by default. Jourdan Wallace secured a 6-0, 6-4 win at the No. 6 position, giving a 3-0 lead to the Lady Bears.
 
Despite this lead, Morgan State would lose the rest of the singles matches and would see A&T comeback and take the win 4-3.
 
Mitchell lost 7-6(4), 6-3 at the No. 4 spot. At the No. 2 position, Santiago would lose 7-5, 6-2 to Angelica Martinez. Junior, Peggy Rooke would then lose at No. 1 singles 6-4, 7-5. Ruiz defeated Asmara Rose in a tough three-set battle and would give the win to A&T.
 
The Lady Bears will be back in action Wednesday, March 20 when they play Elon University in Elon, N.C.
