Bears Have Solid Showing at UNF Spring Break Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.(March 22, 2019) – The Morgan State men's track & field team competed at the UNF Spring Break Invitational March 21-22, and the team's performance earned two individual top 5 and six top-10 finishes.

Keon Rantin paced the Bears on the track as the junior ran a 21.44 to place third in the 200m dash. Rantin also placed 13th in the 400m dash with a time of 48.88.

The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of Jordan Cofield, Keon Rantin, Lamar Davis and Brandon James finished as runners-up to Clemson (39.77) with a season-best time of 41.01.

The Bears' 4x400m team placed seventh, as the quartet of Kevin Leach, Keon Rantin, Brandon James and Ra'Mel Manley ran a 3:18.79.

Kobe-Jordan Rhooms, who is currently ranked T-12th nationally in the triple jump at 15.06m, placed third with a leap of 14.10m. The sophomore also placed 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.69m, followed by Lamar Davis who finished 12th with a 6.68m.

In the shot put, Kurt Goodlitt finished ninth with a season-best throw of 14.82m, and placed 10^thin the discus with a mark of 43.27m.
