Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. (March 13, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis team fell short, 4-3 to Loyola University Maryland on Wednesday at McClure Tennis Center at Ridley Athletic Complex.
 
Morgan State's (2-7) 
Peggy Rooke and 
Asmara Rose at the No. 1 doubles spot, managed to win 6-4. The two freshmen 
Averiana Mitchell and 
Jourdan Wallace lost at the No. 2 position 6-3. Loyola Maryland would win at No. 3 doubles by default and won the crucial double point.
 
Freshman 
Averiana Mitchell led the way in the single action, winning the No. 3 position. Junior 
Peggy Rooke suffered a tough lost 6-2, 3-6, 1-6 at No. 1 position. 
Jourdan Wallace got the win at No. 4 singles. An injured 
Dana Santiago had to retire halfway through the second set. Sophomore 
Asmara Rose pulled through a tough match, where she started by losing the first set 6-1, but fought her way back and won in three sets 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).
 
Loyola (3-0) closed out the match with a score of 4-3
 
The Lady Bears will be off until Saturday, March 16, when they take on Delaware state on their home court for their first conference match of the season.
