Box Score NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 30, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis team dropped its non-conference match against the University of Missouri, 7-0 loss on Wednesday at Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
 
The loss was the fourth straight for Morgan State (0-4). Mizzou improved to a 4-1 on the season.
 
Mizzou started off by earning the double's point and later claimed the six singles for a win 7-0 against the Lady Bears.
 
At the No. 2 single position, sophomore Asmara Rose fell short, losing in a third set tiebreaker to the Tigers' Serena Nash 4-6, 6-3 (10-2).
 
"We lost today, but we also learned so many lessons about ourselves and I'm encouraged moving forward with this team," said Morgan State head coach Matt Townes. "Missouri plays in arguably the toughest conference in the country, and to see us go back and forth with them gives us confidence for our conference matches."
 
The Lady Bears will play host Old Dominion on Thursday at noon.
