BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 2, 2019)-The Morgan State volleyball team increased its season-long winning streak to five straight, following its impressive 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-11) sweep of four-time defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion and MEAC Northern Division leader Howard on Friday night at Hill Field House.

With the win, Morgan State (13-11, 7-4 MEAC) avenged a three-set loss to Howard earlier this season in Washington, D.C. and improved to 38-36 all-time against the Lady Bison. It was Morgan State's first win over Howard since 2017 when the Lady Bears spoiled Howard's Senior Night.

For the visiting Lady Bison (12-12, 9-1 MEAC), the loss was their first of the season in MEAC play and ended a season-best nine-match winning streak. It also put an end to a three-match winning streak in the series for Howard, which heading into Friday night had won seven of the last eight contests against Morgan State.

The hosts hit for .248 in the match, while Howard was limited to .074. Morgan State opened the match recording a set-best 15 kills and hitting .163, while holding Howard to nine kills and an attack percentage of .114.

The Lady Bears continued to get stronger as the match went along collecting 13 kills each in Sets 2 and 3, while increasing its attack percentage to .290 and 360, respectively. Howard had a set-high 12 kills in Set 2 and hit a best .152. The Lady Bison then tallied just five kills in the Set 3 and hit a set-low -.074.

Zoe McBride earned her 14th double-double of the season, while
Tylar Roberson hit. 300 and recorded 12 kills and a tied a team-high 13 digs to pick up her ninth double-double.
Jasmin Perry hit for a match-high .545, totaling six kills on 11 attempts with no errors.
Jennevy Santos had 13 digs and
Roi Wallace totaled a match-best 36 assists.

Howard, which entered the contest as the last unbeaten team in MEAC play, following its five-set victory over North Carolina A&T last Sunday, was led by Kira Porter's five kills. Kayla Diaz finished with 16 assists and Fola Wilson had a match-high 18 digs in the loss.

Morgan State closes out its home schedule on Sunday, Nov. 3, when it entertains Norfolk State at 1 p.m. The contest will mark 'Senior Day' for Jamin Hubbard and
Roi Wallace, who will be playing in their final home contest at Hill Field House.

The Lady Bears will look to avenge yet another early season loss, as the Spartans defeated Morgan State, 3-0 in Virginia (10/14) in what was their first and only win of the season.

Norfolk State (1-19, 1-9 MEAC) dropped a 3-0 decision at Coppin State on Friday.
