Tylar Roberson added 23 to lead the Lady Bears to a 3-1 (25-18, 28-30, 25-16, 25-21) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory over North Carolina Central (NCCU) on Friday evening at Hill Field House.

Morgan State (8-8, 2-1 MEAC) improved to 5-2 at home this season and remained unbeaten against NCCU in the series' three meetings. The Lady Eagles fell to 2-14 overall and 1-2 in the MEAC.

The host Lady Bears finished the contest with 58 kills and hit .234 as a team. Roberson hit a team-best .333, while McBride hit .297 for the match.
Jennevy Santos collected a match-high 22 digs and McBride added 15 to record her 11th double-double of the season.
Roi Wallace notched a match-high 47 assists in the win.

North Carolina Central was led by Christine Alcox, who finished with 13 kills and Arlanda Faulkner added nine. Yomaries Villegas recorded 17 digs and Celene Morris had a team-best 33 assists. The Eagles tallied 46 kills and had a .167 attack percentage.

Despite hitting a set-best 18 kills in Set 2, the Lady Bears would commit 10 attack errors and hit just .170 as a team. The Eagles recorded 15 kills and hit .238 in the set to claim a 30-28 victory to even the score at 1-1.

The Lady Bears used a .370 hitting percentage with 13 kills and three errors on 27 attempts in the fourth set to put the match away with a 25-21 victory. The Eagles had 14 kills and hit .200, but was done in by seven attack errors. Morgan State took its largest lead of the set (18-12) when
Mykaela Ross and
Sara Brown teamed up for a block. Roberson ended the contest with a kill for the win.

Morgan State finished the match with 10 service aces, but had nine service errors. Wallace led the way with a match-high five aces and McBride added three.

NCCU outblocked Morgan State, 11.0-7.0 for the match. McKayla Young had a match-high five blocks and Ammaarah Williams finished with four, including two solo blocks. Ross led the Lady Bears with four blocks, including one solo and Brown finished with three.

Morgan State will close out its four-game homestand on Sunday, Oct. 6, when it welcomes North Carolina A&T State to Hill Field House for a MEAC match at 1 p.m. The Aggies (5-12, 3-0 MEAC) defeated Coppin State on Friday night, 3-2. Â
