Men's Tennis Falls to Drexel, 6-1

Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Jan. 27, 2019) -- Morgan State men's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to Drexel on Sunday at the Drexel Armory. The Bears fell to 1-3 on the season. 

"It was a tough loss today," said MSU coach Matthew Townes. "Drexel is a complete team with great depth and good coaching." 

"We must all learn from this today and I look forward to getting back in the lab with the guys and improving immediately."
 
Drexel swept the Bears in the doubles matches to start the day. MSU's sophomore duo of Sebastian Lopez and Oguzhan Ceylan fell 6-1 to Sinan Orhon and Djordje Janackovic at No. 1. The Dragons sealed the doubles point when Alvaro Chamorro and Juan Sanchez posted a 6-1 win against Shrey Gupta and Nihit Rawal.

In the singles action, the Bears avoided a match shutout as Oguzhan Ceylan won at the No. 4 singles by recording a hard-fought 8-5 (7-5) victory against Youssef Lahlou. The Dragons won the remaining five of six singles matches. 

Morgan State returns to action on Saturday when the Bears head to Annapolis to face the Navy Midshipmen.
