Men’s Tennis Falls To Georgia Southern, Match With The Citadel Cancelled

Box Score STATESBORO, Ga. – The Morgan State men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match, 6-1, to Georgia Southern on Sunday afternoon at the Wallis Tennis Center.

The Bears were also scheduled to play The Citadel, but the match was cancelled due to the weather.

Sophomore Shrey Gupta earned his first victory of the season defeating Santiago Suarez 7-5, 6-1 for the team's only victory of the match.

Junior Nihit Rawal had a tough battle at No. 3 singles against Diego Finkelstein before falling in the end by a final result of 4-6, 6-3, 11-9.

Sophomore Serhii Kharchez was outlasted by JC Alcala, 6-3, 6-4, at number 1 singles, while sophomore Sebastian Lopez fell to Muniz 6-3, 6-3.

The Bears will head to Deland, Florida for a matchup against Stetson on Wednesday, Jan. 16. First serve at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center is set for 2:30 p.m.
