Box Score STATESBORO, Ga. (Jan. 13, 2019)-The defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champion Morgan State women's tennis began the 2019 season on the road with a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon at Georgia Southern. The Lady Bears would fall to the host Eagles, 7-0 at the Wallis Tennis Center.
 
Georgia Southern (1-0) would win all six singles matches and earned the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
 
The Lady Bears' (0-1) lone match victory of the day would come from Peggy Rooke and Asmara Rose, who earned a No. 1 doubles victory of Georgia Southern's team of Lindsay Truscott and Luisa Hrda by a score of 6-4.
 
Morgan State will now travel to the Sunshine State for two non-conference matches. The first stop will be a trip to Deland, Fla. to take on Stetson on Wednesday, Jan. 16, before heading up to Tallahassee to face MEAC foe Florida A&M (FAMU) on Friday, Jan. 18. The FAMU match will not count towards the league standings.
