BALTIMORE, Md. (April 6, 2018)-The Morgan State women's tennis team fell to Bucknell, 2-5 on Friday in the Lady Bear's home opener at the MSU Tennis Courts.
 
The Lady Bears (5-11) got off to a good start by capturing the doubles point through wins at number one and two doubles. The freshman duo of Alexus Gill and Asmara Faluke won 6-3 at number two, quickly followed by senior Danielle Thompson and sophomore Peggy Rooke, who then clinched the doubles point by closing out number one doubles with a score of 6-4.
 
Moving into singles, Thompson extended the lead for the Lady Bears with a quick 6-1, 6-0 win at number one singles. The Lady Bison then leveled the match through wins at number two and four singles. The remaining matches at number three, five, and six singles all went to three sets, where the Bucknell managed to close out the match.
 
The Lady Bears will be back in action on Sunday, April 8^th, as they travel to Washington, D.C. to play rival Howard in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match.
