Lady Bears Fall to Loyola, 5-2

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 18, 2018)-The Lady Bears were back in action on Thursday, March 15, as they faced Loyola-Maryland University for the first outdoor match of the season.

The Morgan State women's tennis team got the win at No. 1 doubles with senior Danielle Thompson and sophomore Peggy Rooke earning a 6-2 victory. However, the Lady Greyhounds captured the doubles point through a win by default at the No. 3 doubles position.

In singles, the Lady Bears got wins from sophomores Dana Santiago and Peggy Rooke at the No. 5 and No. 2 positions, respectively. Junior Oriane Yehouenou took her opponent to a deciding set, falling narrowly by a score of 5-7 at No. 3.

Loyola closed out the match with a score of 5-2.

The Lady Bears will be back in action on Sunday, March 18, when they travel to Delaware State for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division opener.
