Anissa Morales has played in eight games so far on the young season and has made seven starts, all at catcher. The Queen Creek, Ariz. native, has recorded three hits, including a homerun, scored four times, and has 3RBI. Morales has also totaled two walks, has a stolen base in her only attempt and ranks second on the team in putouts with 28.
 
During the opening weekend of the season, Morales went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run, after hitting a three-run shot against Fairleigh Dickinson during the Dot Richardson Tournament in Clermont, Fla.
 
Last weekend her best game came in the opener of the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla., when she scored two runs and had a hit against Savannah State.
 
Pending the weather and field conditions, Morgan State is scheduled to host the MSU Tournament (March 2-4) at Lois T. Murray Field. The Lady Bears are to open up with a single game against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, March 3 at 2:30 p.m. On Saturday, Morgan State will take on Saint Peter's at 10 a.m. and will end the day against Lafayette at 3 p.m. The Lady Bears will conclude the tournament with a Sunday match-up against St. Bonaventure at 9:30 a.m.

What is the best time of year on campus for you? How has your semester been going so far, as far at Morgan state? I love the fall only because the different color leaves all over campus. Although season time is the best! My semesters have been going decent since being here at Morgan. I've always been one who is able to manage time.
What did you choose as your major? Communications-Multiplatform Production
If you had to give any advice to an incoming student what would it be? Always stay on top of your responsibilities. Make the most of your time because it goes fast. If you have an opportunity to do anything always take it.
Describe your first day at Morgan? My first day at Morgan was very different all around compared to being from the west coast.
What do you like most about Morgan? My team.

When you are not at practice, what could someone find you doing? Hanging out with Mikaela and Hope or in my room on Netflix/Facetime with either my family or boyfriend.
Do you have a hidden talent? I enjoy singing I wouldn't say a talent lol
If you could play another sport other than yours, what would it be? I played Volleyball all through high school so either that or some kind of football league because I also played that growing up.
What do you look most forward to this upcoming season? Being able to compete in MEAC's

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? Never give up only go forward & Go up to the plate with the mentality that you are the toughest out for the pitcher.
