BALTIMORE, Md. (February 19, 2018) -- Brandon Tabb scored 34 points before fouling out in overtime, Isaiah Bailey had 28 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists and Bethune-Cookman beat Morgan State 96-95 on Monday night.
Bailey gave Bethune-Cookman an 82-80 lead on a 3-pointer from the wing in the closing seconds of regulation. Morgan State freshman Kyson Rawls was fouled on a driving layup attempt at 3.4 and he made two free throws to tie it at 82 and Bailey was off on a 3-point runner at the buzzer.
Tied at 92, Bethune-Cookman dribbled down the clock, Bailey was fouled on a layup attempt at 6.2 and he made two at the stripe. Rawls took a handoff and hit a potential winning 3-pointer but it was called off for a moving screen. Bailey sealed it with two free throws before David Syfax hit a 3 at the horn.
Shawntrez Davis, averaging 14.9 points, also fouled out with just nine points for Bethune-Cookman (16-12, 10-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Tiwian Kendley scored 29 of his career-high 41 points (13-19 FG) after halftime for Morgan State (10-16, 6-7). Kendley also grabbed six rebounds and had five assists and two blocked shots before fouling out in overtime.
Syfax matched a season-high with 17 points (5-14 FG) and added five rebounds. Kyson Rawls connected on 4-of-5 3-pointers and finished with a season-high 14 points, while Martez Cameron chipped in 13 points and dished out eight assists with two steals.
The Bears shot 45 percent on the night to give them a great shot at knocking off one of the league's best teams. But the hot-shooting Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and hit 39 percent from 3-point range.
MSU held a 44-37 advantage on the boards, however BCU outscored the Bears by a 40-22 margin in the paint.

Tiwian Kendley's previous career-high was during an 85-82 2OT victory against Manhattan on Dec. 6, 2016. As a junior, he poured in season highs of 40 points and 10 rebounds.
Morgan State's seven conference losses have been by a combined 53 points, with five of the losses away from Hill Field House…and dropped to 0-4 in games decided in OT.
