TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 27, 2018) – Florida A&M quarterback Ryan Stanley made quite a statement tonight as he led the Rattlers to a 38-3 win against Morgan State.
Stanley passed for 163 yards (14 for 22) and three touchdowns, and the No. 1 ranked team in the
BOXTOROW HBCU FCS Coaches and Media Poll followed its bye week with a resounding victory over the visiting Bears on Saturday.
With the win, the Rattlers not only posted its fifth-straight victory, also moving one step closer to winning at least a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship.
Both Bear quarterbacks shared time on the field tonight. Junior signal-caller
DeAndre Harris completed 5-of-11 passes for 55 yards, while redshirt-freshman
DJ Golatt Jr. threw for a season-best 148 yards on 15 of 22 passing.
Morgan State junior receiver
Manasseh Bailey caught a game-high five passes for 54 yards to lead the Bears.
The Bears' running attack, that racked up 209 yards last week against Howard, was limited to 96 yards on the ground against a fast and aggressive Rattlers defensive unit.
Deshawn Smith had a career high of 116 yards on 14 carries, including a highlight 6-yard touchdown that seemed to cover almost 30 yards. It was his first score of the season and capped the Rattlers scoring on the night.
Bishop Bonnet added 61 rushing yards, and Xavier Smith had four catches and 58 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown grab late in the second quarter for the Rattlers (6-2, 5-0) who finished with 390 yards, including 218 rushing.
Morgan State got off to a rough start right out the gate.

Joshua Chase fumbled and defensive lineman Chris Faddoul recovered in the endzone for a Rattler touchdown. Yahia Aly's extra point gave Florida A&M a 7-0 lead.
Florida A&M would go on to build a 31-0 halftime lead, and extended the lead to 38-0 on Smith's score in the 3
rdquarter.
Alex Raya connected on a 29-yard field in the fourth quarter to help Morgan State avoid its first-ever shutout to Rattlers.
Next Up: Morgan State will host Bethune-Cookman next Saturday (Nov. 3) at Hughes Stadium. Kick-off is set for 4 p.m.
