BALTIMORE, Md. -- Morgan State men's tennis defeated Coppin State on Thursday (April 13) by a score of 4-2 at the CSU Tennis Courts. 

The Bears improved its record to 6-12 overall and remain in first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division with a perfect 3-0 mark. 

Morgan State picked up the doubles point over the Eagles (1-13, 0-4 MEAC). The freshman duo of Ondrej Labik and Nihit Rawal earned a 6-1 win on court one and improved their record to 6-1 on the season. Arjun Ramakrishnan and Lucas Krusinski withstood a battle from Coppin's Andre Sturniolo and Gavis Lewis to pull out a 6-4 decision on court two. 

The Bears simply dominated their cross-town rivals in singles play. Krusinski and Ramakrishnan both pitched 6-0, 6-0 shutout wins over their opponents on courts 1 and 2, respectively. Rawal, the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Week, also won his singles match by defeating Andres Diaz by a score of 6-0, 6-1.

The Eagles came up with two points in singles play by default and retirement.

Morgan State has won four straight matches and with only two matches left before the MEAC Championships, the Bears seem to be ready to make a run during postseason play.
