OCEANSIDE, N.Y. - The Morgan State men's team recorded a 5-2 victory against Hofstra on Saturday night at Point Set Racquet Club, improving to a 2-8 record.

Morgan State started off by sweeping the doubles point against the Pride. The duo of Jeremy Field and Ondrej Labik posted a 6-2 win at No. 1. Lucas Krusinski and Sagar Sathyanarayanan won at No. 2 with a 6-3 victory. 

Scoring singles wins was Arjun Ramakrishnan, Labik, Krusinski and Sathyanarayanan to secure the team win.

"It feels great to grab another win against a quality team," said MSU coach Matt "Townes. We played well in both aspects of the match and took advantage of our opportunities when they came. The matches were very tight and the guys showed some guts to get through with a W." 

Hofstra, which had to default at a No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles flight, got wins from Marcus Smith and David Schrott as the Pride fell to 3-7.

Smith defeated Jeremy Field, 7-5, 7-5, at the No. 1 flight, while Schrott downed Nihit Rawal, 7-6 (10-3), 7-5, at the fourth flight.

The Bears are back in action for a home-opener matchup against Loyola on Wednesday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m.
