BUIES CREEK, N.C. (March 21, 2017)-The Morgan State women's tennis team's season-long three match winning streak came to an end on Tuesday afternoon to host Campbell. The Camels would defeat Morgan State, 5-2 in a non-conference match at James R. Nisbet Tennis Center.
Morgan State fell to 3-12 on the season, while Campbell improved to 7-8.
After the visiting Lady Bears lost the doubles point,
Kayla Price evened the score at 1-1 with her No. 4 singles victory over Pauline Roustan 6-3, 6-0.
However, the Camels would secure the victory by winning the next three singles matches to finish play (No. 5, No. 1, No. 6), while extending their lead to 4-1.
Morgan State concluded the match with
Danielle Thompson winning the final contest of the afternoon. Thompson would need three sets to win her No. 2 singles match over Campbell's Lea Cutura 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
The Lady Bears continue their Spring Break tour through North Carolina, when they visit Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division member, North Carolina Central for a non-conference match on Thursday, March 23 in Durham, N.C.
